Hi,

We are looking for a nice hotel on the beach --preferrably 4 star. We do not want to spend over 220 ish per night. We started looking at Hilton Head but ocean view is around 289 and up. We%26#39;d really like ocean view with balcony. Just my husband and my 17 year old son. Living in Orlando, we know that you really have to know what you are doing to get a beach hotel --sight unseen --and we are a bit picky.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The Cheapest Oceanfront hotel here is the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. Rooms run from $139 Plus Tax.

I don%26#39;t think you will find anything else along the coast south of charleston during the summer season.

We just got back from Fripp Island.

The food was terrible unless you like Hot Dogs, nachos, and burgers. Our room had Roaches. We typically stay in 4 or 5 star resorts. Fripp Island is quiet but not worth a trip. We are still waiting to hear back from management about our accommodations.

If you are as picky as we are stay away from Fripp Island.

We just got back from Hilton Head and stayed at the Marriott Barony Beach Club. Our rate was around $230 per night. The room was not ocean front but the rooms are very nice. Two bedroom, both with whirlpools, large balcony, and just a few steps from the ocean.

Full Kitchen, Dining area.
