Deciding between Holiday Inn Downtown, Hampton Inn or

The Embassy Suites. All my favorite places to stay or booked for Saturday, July 1st. We are only staying one night and will not be in the room much. I%26#39;ve stayed at The Hampton Inn downtown once but it was years ago. Which of these hotels is better for location, parking, etc.

Deciding between Holiday Inn Downtown, Hampton Inn or

Location: The Holiday Inn is 2 blocks further (towards the historic dist.) than Hampton.

Parking: Both have charged parking (Hampton=garage, Holiday=lot)

Ammenities: Holiday Inn has a fitness center and both have pools

Breakfast: Hampton=delux continental, Holiday=charged, but many items.

Personally, I like the Holiday Inn more than Hampton because it%26#39;s pretty new, clean, and has HUGE bright rooms. The staff is also very informative.

*Hope this helps; enjoy your stay!!!!

Thanks Energizerbunny- do you have suggestions for a birthday dinner. I%26#39;ve been to Charleston many times, always have a hard time choosing a restaurant- too many good ones. Was thinking about trying The Fleet?? I like the location on the water. Also want to have drinks before at either Vendue Rooftop (been there lots) or trying out the Marketplace Rooftop Bar. Any thoughts on those two?

Some of my friends actually took me to Fleet right after my birthday, and it was awesome! We ate out on the back deck, and the view was the best in Charleston and the weather was perfect. The food was also top-notch. What I like about the restaurant is its casual, yet classy feel.

And, assuming you%26#39;re looking for seafood...

*Another casual seafood spot I love is Coast on John Street Behind Rue de Jean. The food and atmosphere would be perfect but it does not have Fleet%26#39;s View.

*Also check out Hank%26#39;s on Hayne Street! That%26#39;s your splurge/fine dining seafood, but well worth it. Another good one is the Boathouse on East Bay Street.

*If you do not have to be downtown, the Shem Creek Bar and Grill in Mt. Pleasant would be another casual waterfront option.

I personally like the rooftop at Vendue more, but both are nice and fun. There%26#39;s another called the Terrace above Millennium Music (King and Calhoun Streets). If you%26#39;re looking for casual nightlife, there%26#39;s a lot on King Street.

Sounds like you%26#39;re about to have a blast!

Enjoy it!
