The Marriott Grande Dunes is very nice; lots of condos in North Myrtle would probably meet your needs?

I am not quite sure what you mean by ';tropical feeling.'; Do you mean tropical plantings with palms and other things that you see in Florida??? MB has enough cold nights in the Winter that not much of that sort of plantings can take it.

This is about the seventh or eighth post where you have been given a good many suggestions. You are the only one that knows what will suit. No one is going to be able to help you decide. All they can do is suggest.

Do you want a large pool for kids to play in safely or a large pool deep enough for adults to dive and swim laps?

The problem is that you have indicated that you are fussy. No one wants you to be disappointed in a place that they might name.

If I had to pick a resort that had loads of activities and lots of fun for children, two come to mind that you may want to browse. Coral Beach, you can find more info at www.myrtlebeach-resorts.com or Ocean Creek Resort at www.oceancreek.com. Both are large resorts with good reviews and lots of activities.

I%26#39;m also not sure what she means by ';tropical';. If it%26#39;s the islands that she is looking for, there are not too many in the US that have the original feel. Simply because they ARE NOT the islands.

My destination of choice is Jamaica but since that%26#39;s not possible this year, I take what I can get and choose wisely. I%26#39;m choosing Myrtle Beach because we have stayed there in the past, really enjoyed it, and are returning. But I know this isn%26#39;t the same culture, people, etc. Be realistic. Like Aileen posted, if it%26#39;s the plants, trees, etc., not here. If she is is truly worried about the ';feel'; of Myrtle Beach, maybe best to wait until she can go to the islands. JMHO.

I agree with yugie about Coral BEach because they have a bunch of things for kids to do.

If you haven%26#39;t been to MB before try to pick one of the hotels that have consistently good reviews that far outweigh the bad.

Any hotel will get some bad reviews. Everyone has different expectations %26amp; standards. I%26#39;ve even see reviews where people complain endlessly about the quality of towels, sand on the balcony, etc.

For me....cleanliness %26amp; safety is at the top of the list...so I really fixate on that when I%26#39;m reading reviews.

Based on reviews from this website I%26#39;m considering Dayton House, Hampton Inn OF or Sea Island Inn.

Franklyn D. Resort in Runaway Bay is a good place to start or Beaches Negril Resort %26amp; Spa.

Personally I like Negril mainly for its location and white sand beach. There is a lot of greenry in Negril and as a family destination it is moving a way from the hippie town status quo.

However Runaway Bay is a great choice due mainly to its closeness to the International Airport

I understand what you mean when you say ';tropical';

My suggestion would probably be the Marriott Grand Dunes in North Myrtle Beach or the Avista Resort in North Myrtle Beach. I haven%26#39;t stayed in either but a friend recently stayed at the Marriott. Their description is that it makes you feel like you are in the tropics at like a Sandals resort or something.

Everything isn%26#39;t all inclusive however. But they do have a spa, clean nice size pools that have ';FAKE PALM'; trees aligned throughout the pool and the property. Marriott you will surely pay more. Check the websites and see which one would suit you best.
