MB experts I need help

My girlfriend and I, both late 20%26#39;s, are planning on visiting in late August. Last year we stayed and paradise towers. Very happy with it but this year we are looking to stay longer so we need to watch the room rate. So far I found two hotels that I was wondering about your opinion. The boardwalk and Grande Shores? We are not really picky just so we are on the beach with a clean oceanfront room. I was leaning toward Grande Shores but concerned about how far it is from broadway at the beach. Any advise? THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

In late August room/condo rates drop dramatically... unlike the Jersey, MD and DE beaches. Look for a condo. You can find some very reasonable ones. Check out VRBO.com or, perhaps one of the condo rental sites. Go online at the Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach Visitor and Convention Center sites (you can Google them) and order their visitor guides. You should be able to find an oceanfront studio for way under $700 for the week!

Thanks psuag! I%26#39;ll check out that website

Agree with the above post. Rates do go down about that second week in August. If you liked the area around the Breakers Paradise Tower, you might take a look at the Carolina Grande or the Dayton House (both are right in that 21st Ave N area, not far from Broadway at the Beach - probably less than 2 miles)

VRBO is a great website...you might look at condos in the Gazebo section of MB...still less than 5 miles to Broadway...some of those would be Forest Dunes, South Wind Villas or Sea Island.

Grande Shores is a nice property --- more towards the north end of MB, and maybe 7 to 8 miles from Broadway, and an easy drive or catch a lift on one of the buses.

:)

Agree with MBConcierge about the Gazebo section of Myrtle Beach.Grande Shores is about 6 miles from Broadway At The Beach.
