Accommodations around 5300 North Ocean Blvd or North - Not...

Hi Folks..

Looking for some recommendations for accomodations around 5300 or North on N Ocean Blvd. We have been going to Myrtle Beach for 30 years. Always stayed at either the Pan American or Dunes Village. I really like that area of beach. But, both of the facilities above are gone. What else is relatively close, that anyone could recommend? I don%26#39;t really want to go to North Myrtle Beach. PS. We stayed at the Cabana Shores last year...it was just ok...looking for some other options!! Please help!!

Thank you,

Rick

Sea Island Inn is located at 6000 N. Ocean Blvd - they just opened on 5/13

Ditto for the Sea Island...or you might want to check out their sister propety South Wind Villas (not to far from the Pan American)...not sure if I would trust the August opening date for Dunes Village...its a bit of a mess there right now....

:)

Well I haven%26#39;t stayed here but it looks nice and it%26#39;s at 5310 North Ocean Blvd. Myrlte Beach It%26#39;s called South Wind on the OCean.

They just opened in 2004. If it%26#39;s bad already someone will tell you if you ask about it.

I am looking into this one as well. What is in the area of 5300 North Ocean Boulevard. We stayed at the Breakers 21st north ocean and that area was nice wasn%26#39;t hard to get to everything.

The area around 53rd Ave N is mostly hotel/residential. its a really nice area of the beach...nice and wide. In the 53rd Ave area you have maybe 4 hotel/condo properties with a nice residential area on both sides, then about 5 blocks north you have another group of hotels (69th to 82nd Ave N).

I forgot to include the website for Sea Island (Southwinds Sister property) www.seaislandonthebeach.com

:)

There;s also Forest Dunes on 5511 North Ocean. Best bang for the buck anywhere in Myrtle Beach.

Another vote for Sea Island! Enjoy!

Forest Dunes is a god value. Remember it is across the street....but there is nothing in front of it and the road is not busy at all. We always enjoyed it. We always stayed there because they would guarantee a first floor room....which is nice because you can walk of your fenced off balcony right to the hot tub, lazy river or pool. You can pull right up to your door and unload. AND no elevator hassle. The laundry was jus a couple of door down! Room rate was VERY reasonable!!!! Those are the pluses.

The minuses...NOT very clean!!!!!!! This is a BIG minus. But my kids are older so they don%26#39;t crawl around on the floor and they help with the hygiene issues.

Very safe location....very quiet. The beach is NOT crowded at all.

Unfortunately...we were booked out of the first floor at Forest Dunes so we aren%26#39;t going there this year. The only reason we stayed there was because of the first floor convenience.

We booked with Dunes Village (same area) on April 6th for our July vacation. Then...without telling us...they changed their opening date to August. They said they refunded our credit card on May 6th, but they did not contact us. We found out by accident...searching for construction updates we found out that the opening had been changed....but we never found this out until the end of May.....They should have contacted us. They had our email address, our phone number and our home address.

We are now booked with Sea Island Inn which is just a few blocks away...same kind of area. Wonderful reports!!!!! A bit pricey, but I believe it will be clean.

Good luck!!!
