Coming to Charleston in 2 weeks with 5 KIDS! Ages 6-14.

Any recommendations for the best tours for kids and good restaurants for kids? Also, any other fun things would be great.

Thanks!

For this range of ages I would recommend carriage tours; ghost tours; the Old Jail; Fort Sumter boat tour; SC Aquarium (I know you have a fabulous aquarium in Baltimore, but here you can see local species, like loggerhead turtles. They are having a special summer exhibit.)); and Middleton Place Plantation.

These activities are sure to interest kids and adults both. Be sure to stop at the Visitor%26#39;s Center to find out what special events might be going on for young people.

You will have no trouble finding great restaurants. For happy family dining for all ages, try the Chareston Crab House. If you have a car, venture out to Bessinger%26#39;s Barbecue on Rte. 17, which has wonderful barbecued pork and ribs and also makes award-winning hamburgers.

Hey! Charleston has lots of fun stuff to do with children! For tours I would suggest either a walking tour or a carriage ride. You can do a harbor tour or a harbor tour to Ft. Sumter. I would walk around the market for a while there are lots of little shops and restaurants that are all casual and family friendly.

For things to do outside of the downtown area I would suggest the Yorktown (especially if those children are boys), the plantations or you can spend the day relaxing at one of our many public beaches!
