Hilton Head - Harbour Town Resort

Hi - we are thinking about coming to stay at the Harbour Town Resort via our timeshare. Has anyone stayed there and if so what is it like ?

Also we have to come at the end of August (children school holidays) I assume the weather will be hot and maybe humid?

What about hurricanes ? Thanks

I assume you are referring to the Harbortown Yacht club, since that is the timeshare that uses the harbortown name.

there have been a number of threads about this facility recently. I suggest you use the search function and put in ';yacht club';

The weather in august is uusally in the mid to upper 80%26#39;s. We generally get thunderstorms in the late afternoon or evening.

As for hurricianes, August is the middle of the season so there might be one lurking out there in the atlantic. The island has in the past and will in the future called for voluntary evacuations when a danger is possible.

Atlantic Coast hurricianes are not as fierce as Gulf coast hurricanes as a rule, since the water tends to be cooler in the broad atlantic, but they can cause damage.

Last week we lost a limb of a southern pine in my backyard, because of Alberto, which didn%26#39;t even have hurriciane strength.

Most make landfall in Florida or north of us in the area from Myrtle Beach to Nags Head. the last real hurricaine to hit the Savannah - HHI area was in 1895.
