Help! Looking for a nice hotel...

I am going to Myrtle Beach for the first time with my parents and my boyfriend the first week of August. We are having a hard time choosing a hotel, as there are a lot of bad reviews out there. We are looking for something that is close to Broadway at the Beach, kind of in the center of everything (clubs, restaurants, amusement stuff, entertainment, etc.) We were looking at the Patricia Grand, but there are LOTS of bad reviews for that one. Can anyone recommend something in that vicinity that we can get for a good price? Thanks :0)

Is Dayton House in that vicinity? I haven%26#39;t stayed there but it looks very nice %26amp; gets high reviews. In fact, we%26#39;re considering staying there this year in September.

Forgot to add.....the Caribbean Resort is nearby %26amp; it%26#39;s one of my favorites....but they are renovating so you would want to make sure that it will be finished.

I wouldn%26#39;t want to stay there (or anywhere) during a major renovation.

Another property to add to that would be the Breakers Resort (Paradise Tower) if the Dayton House doesnt work out...they are in that same area, right there on the ocean at 21st Ave N, so you are probably less than 2 miles to Broadway at the Beach and less than a mile to the downtown area around the Pavilion. The is also the Best Western Carolinian or I think its called the Caolina Grande (its a Bluegreen resort)....
