Best Beaches

Hi! Looking for a nice relaxing beach in SC that is not overly crowded, with nice waves, and something to do nearby. Not wanting Mytrle (HS teacher and I know that place is packed about now). We were thinking about Hilton Head, but not really finding any decent places to stay near the beach. Would like to leave in about two weeks . . .

Thanks!

Best Beaches

Try Folly Beach outside Charleston. Considered to have the best waves in South Carolina for surfing. It is also close enough to Charleston for easy day trips into the city.

Best Beaches

I would suggest the Isle of Palms, the beaches there are nicer than Folly, in the sense that they are wider and there is still a significant amount of beach even at high tide. The actual beach itself is comparable to those in Myrtle Beach. There are a few small hotels on IOP and more that are very close in Mt. Pleasant. There are condos and houses for rent, the majority of visitors rent these. There are places to get food (lunch) within walking distance of the beach. IOP is not NEARLY as commercial and crowded as Myrtle. I actually live on IOP year round. If you look on the older postings for ';Isle of Palms'; you will find more info that I have listed in the past for people.

The only problem you might have is availability only 2 weeks from now. Many things get reserved pretty far in advance.

Hope this is helpful to you.
