Am planning a trip to the Charleston area in July - have never visited and know nothing about the area. Where is the best place to stay oceanfront - have heard of Isle of Palms or Sullivan%26#39;s Island. Looking for an oceanfront condo to rent.
Isle of Palms?
That would be the Isle of Palms. Sullivan%26#39;s Island does not really allow rentals, so there are very few places there.
There are good restaurants on both IOP and Sullivan%26#39;s and of course many more in Charleston. Edisto Island and Kiawah Island are a good bit further out of Charleston, but you may want to consider those as well. Edisto is very family oriented.
I live on IOP, if you look under ';Isle of Palms Forum'; you will find other posts I have made that detail restaurants and even phone numbers for various realty offices to help with locating a place to rent.
