What about Villa Romana?

What is everyone%26#39;s opionion on the Villa Romana? I think I have narrowed it down to Italian. The wife and I will only be in Myrtle Beach for June13th/14th our anniversary. The rest of the our vacation we will be with family in Wilmington. I have been to wilmington lots and lots of times in the last 20 years but never had kids before what is there fun to do for 5 and 7 yr olds?

What about Villa Romana?

Villa Romana is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I could never say enough great things about this restaurant...they prepare the best Italian food I have ever eaten. It is a family owned, fine authentic Italian Restaurant that opened in 1985 in which everything is made from scratch. It was voted Best Italian Restaurant of the year in 2004 %26amp; 2005 and was voted Restaurant with the best service in 2005. Fran %26amp; Rinaldo (owners %26amp; executive chef) are great and make you feel like family the second you walk through the door. John, the acordian player is wonderful too...very funny and very entetaining. Be sure to go very hungry beacause you get A LOT of food and it is out of this world! The Montrosse family put just as much time %26amp; pride in the inside appearance of the restaurant as they do in preparing each entree. It has a very romantic atmosphere with Roman architcture including a centerpiece fountain, statues, columns, chandeliers, red roses %26amp; live plants. Beautiful! I would reccommend making reservations as they stay very busy (843)448-4990 (and tell them when you get there that you are celebrating your anniversary). If John is available request him as your waiter...he is GREAT! Congratulations %26amp; Happy Anniversary! Enjoy and please give us feedback upon your return!

What about Villa Romana?

This restaruant sounds great- I love Italian food. This may be a very nice place to eat- should I assume it is not a place for children or is it family friendly?

I couldnt have said it better Bob! This place has to be in my top 3 best ever restaurants in Myrtle Beach! Fran and Rinaldo are ALWAYS there...making you feel like you are dining in there home! I have NEVER left there hungry...and have always had a wonderful time. One really nice thing about this place, is you are ALLOWED to dine! No rush with the courses, allowing for conversation and letting you really enjoy your meal! The only thing I miss is Mama, Rinaldo%26#39;s mother, she used to be there right as you enter to greet you and welcome you to the restaurant...and even approaching 90 she would get up and dance along with John, the accordian player! (If she felt like it!) She passed away about 2 years ago now, but the place is still wonderful and you can still feel her presence as you walk thru the door!

Like Bob said, tell them it is your anniversary...they love to celebrate every special aspect of life! This place is really more than a restaurant.....tell them we both said hi!

:)

My daughter and niece were about that age last time I was in Wilmington...we took a trolley ride tour, it was fairly inexpensive but we all enjoyed it. Saw some of the historic homes.

thanks to tripadvisor (%26amp; anybob%26#39;s repeated urgings) we were unable to avoid patronizing this restaurant. Yes, it truly is special %26amp; we very much enjoyed our evening...it was so much more than just a meal...a great place to celebrate a special event.

And, to answer the question about kids, by all means take them...that is, if they won%26#39;t be moaning for a burger %26amp; fries...I believe one of the owner%26#39;s young sons was working the night we visited %26amp; was obviously ';learning the ropes.'; A charming young man.

Daddio, I am so glad you decided to try Villa Romana and even more happy that you seem to like it as much as I do. Yes, it is a wonderful restaurant...from the staff (who makes everyone feel like family) to the food (which as you know is incredible)! What did you have? Did you happen to try the cream puffs drizzled with chocolate for dessert? I LOVE those! :-)

Villa Romana is wonderful, as is their pizza restaurant a few doors down: Pizza Romana.

I agree Pizza Romana is the best pizza in MB!
