Beach Chairs

Could someone please advise me as to the status quo for beach chairs. Do people use beach blankets, rent beach chairs or purchase their own. We will be staying near Forrest Beach and have a family of four. Am looking for the most cost effective way. If purchasing is best, can anyone suggest a store on the way into town. Thanks much!

Beach Services which provides life guards on the beach also rents chairs and umbrellas by the day. I don%26#39;t know the rate, since we have our own.

You can buy beach chairs, boogy boards and other stuff at Wal-mart in festival center. Their Beach and souviner shop is just inside the entrance. Most of our drug stores (Walgreen, CVS) also sell inexpensive beach stuff.

Just outside Wal-mart is an information booth, where you can pick up coupons and deals.

Last September we rented 2 chairs and an umbrella from the Beach service and it cost $25.00 for the day. That was ok for one day but you can buy your own if you plan on multiple days as the rental cost will add up. I%26#39;m not sure but I think we passed a Wal-Mart somewhere on the drive onto the island.

If you are staying in a condo check in the cupboard when you arrive as someone may have left some chairs there for you to use. Otherwise I bought a high backed chair in the convenience store in coligny plaza (next to Java Joes) for $20.

Hi, I just returned from HHI and I bought very cute beach chairs at Wal-Mart that say Hilton Head {what a great souvenier} for only 12.00 each, they have a carrying strap and a pocket to stow ';stuff';.

Wal-Mart had $5.00 HH Tshirts if you need to bring home something for your kids friends they are a great deal. I also picked up some rafts 2 for 3.00 and beach balls .88. Wal-Mart is a little hard to see if you are not looking for it. We stayed in Palmetto Dunes and I would say it was about 6 miles North of the entrance to PD on the left.

Check out the True Value hardware store in Coligny - they have a big assortment of not only beach chairs, but all beach accessories. I got two nice chairs about 5 years ago for about $12 each - much cheaper than renting.
