food tours??

We%26#39;re visiting Charleston later this week for our 10 year anniversary. This forum has been GREAT for getting ideas/reviews on what to do, where to eat, where to stay. Thanks for all of the helpful advice. One thing we%26#39;ve considered doing is a walking food tour by Carolina Food Pros. They offer several- one through the markets and another at some restaurants. Has anyone done this and is it worth it? Also, what about the Charleston Cooks classes?

food tours??

Carolina Food Pros is a walking tour that is offered several times a week. I have never personally done the tour before, but we have received very positive feedback from visitors who have done the tours. I think she does a ';behind the scenes'; chef tour and she does a tour that will include the museum and 2 historic homes and the tour on Sat morning will include the Farmers Market and several bakeries and wine bars.

Charleston Cooks! I have done. It is like being on Emeril Live. Their is a huge flat screen tv that focuses on what the chef is cooking. You are sitting in the seats watching and intereacting and if the class is small you are helping them cook the dish. I personally had a great time and the portions were very filling. They even give you several glasses on wine to complement your meal.

I would recommend either to you. I think they would be worth it!

~ Happy Anniversary!
