Forest Dunes Resort

My husband and I will be staying at Forest Dunes next week and are worried the hotel is some distance from things to do in Myrtle beach. We have never stayed this far north before (the Caribbean is as far north as we have stayed), but also don%26#39;t like the south end of Myrtle beach (too noisy). Can someone please let me know more about the location of the Forest Dunes Resort?

Forest Dunes Resort

I really like the area where Forest Dunes is located. You really arent very far from the Caribbean, to be honest, maybe 3 miles north. But the beach in this area is really great! If you wander up the beach in the vicinity of the Sea Island, and head inland about 2 blocks, you have ice cream at Kirks (WONDERFUL!), a grocery, a pharmacy, Luigis (for Italian), Grecian Delight (wonderful Greek), Bamboo Cafe (Chinese), and Garcia%26#39;s (Tex Mex).....you can always walk to the next group of hotels (about 1 mile) and you will find St Clements (a great little local beach bar), River City, A Starbucks, and California Pizza.....just to name a few things.

You are pretty much between Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach, and very easy to get to both....either go north on Ocean Blvd as far as you can and this will place you on Rt 17..head north 8 miles and you%26#39;ll be at Barefoot, or go south on OB to 38th Ave N, turn right to the 3rd light, Grissom Parkway, turn left, and less than 3 miles you%26#39;ll be at Broadway. I think you will really enjoy the feel of this area...its as laid back as you let it be!
