If you have a car, take one day to drive out to Beachwalker Park at Kiawah Island - fabulous beach, cheap ($5?) parking for the entire day. Save some money to splurge on a fabulous dinner. When you get here, stop by the Visitor%26#39;s Center to find out what special events are going on.

The Visitors Center is at 375 Meeting Street, telephone (843) 853-8000. They will give you maps, discount coupons, etc.

If you have time, you might also want to buy a current guide book so you will have an overview before your arrival. There is a lot to do and see in Charleston, so you want to make sure you narrow the search to those activities that interest you most.
