What is a Lock Out Room?

We are looking at a one bedroom at the Sand Dunes and they refer to it as a lock out unit. I understand that it could also be sold as a two bedroom but how is it blocked from the other unit when you get just the one bedroom. Is this very secure?

a ';lockout'; unit is common in timshare worlds. It means that it is normally a 2-bedroom unit and has double doors between the main part and the second bedroom so it can be ';locked-off'; and essentially used as a hotel room.

generally the ';suite'; will have a bedroom, bath, kitchen, living room and possibly a patio, the Lock-Off unit is comprable to a hotel room with 1 or 2 beds, a bathroom and perhaps a mini fridge.

There is usually a steel insulated exterior door between the units with an exterior door knob; where I%26#39;ve seen lockout anyway.

they are usually pretty secure. We had both sides of a lockout unit at the Sheraton Broadway and managed to lock our group out of the smaller unit. My nephew had bolted the entry door and pulled the lock out door closed behind him, locking us out of the other unit. When security came to get us back in they entered through the front door with the door latch. I assumed it was easier then getting in through the lock out door

It is just a double door with a dead bolt and a knob lock. Hte are secure. THey have them at Springmaid also.
