I am thinking about seamist but have a couple of questions I hope you don%26#39;t mind answering. I am coming with just me and a 4 year old so won%26#39;t be able to go out in the evenings. Is there entertainment onsite? Also I am looking to spend as little as possible on the room as this is a second vacation ...are the conference side rooms ok. Can you get around the resort ok ..or do you have to drive everywhere...

thanks much

Jimmy,

I think you and your son will have a wonderful time at the Sea Mist. There is so much to do, that you%26#39;ll keep busy all day and evening.

- The Sea Mist is around 8th ave south, so you are in the heart of everything. You can walk to many things, or take a short drive.

- The conference side rooms are fine. In fact, we have begun staying in the Palms building since it is beside the waterpark. On the conference side, you have the waterpark, the miniature golf, the arcade, the kids playground area (castle in the sky?) and Tina%26#39;s restaurant. It%26#39;s always a pain to cross the road to go to the beach, but the Sea Mist has a tunnel under the highway, so that helps.

- Getting around the resort is easy, especially with the tunnel. You%26#39;ll obviously want to go to the beach, but there are several other pools on the beach side. There is also a beachfront bar that serves food and usually has music. It is outside, so it is perfectly fine to have children with you.

- There are a couple of local businesses within walking distance. One of our favorite places is Dino%26#39;s pizza which is right across the street from the waterpark. You can walk two blocks out to highway 17 and there is a seafood restaurant (The Sea Trawler). There is also an icecream stand, and a swimsuit shop (Pacific Beachwear, I think).

- You could walk across Hw 17 (if you could avoid all the traffic), and there is a miniature golf course and a shopping center. In the shopping center is a Food Lion grocery store and the ABC Liquor store.

- If you get the package deal with the amusement park passes, the Family Kingdom Amusement Park is only about 8 blocks away. You do NOT want to try to walk that far with a 4 year old, as the blocks are pretty long. But, it is a very short drive, and if you have the package, well worth going.

- As I said in an earlier post, we%26#39;ve been staying at the Sea Mist for the past 6 years. During that time, we%26#39;ve explored the surrounding area and have found that the things we need to drive to are pretty close. We did walk to the amusement park once, and regretted it, so we drive every time now. There are SO many good restaurants very close to the hotel. There are 5 or 6 miniature golf courses within 8 blocks either way. There are also plenty of places to shop.

The location is fantastic. It is far enough from the Pavilion that there is not as much traffic or noise.

I%26#39;d be happy to answer any other questions you may have. Don%26#39;t be afraid to call and ask the folks at the Sea Mist some questions. They have always been good about answering my questions.
