Directions to N. Myrtle from Cleveland, Ohio

We%26#39;re leaving for N. Myrtle Beach on 6/24 and need quick and easy directions. We%26#39;ve been there many times but we always take the same route and it usuallly takes us 14 hrs. Someone told me they made the trip in 12. Does anyone have a good route to follow? Thanks.

Directions to N. Myrtle from Cleveland, Ohio

We find we like taking interstates. More miles but we make it from Wadsworth to N Myrtle taking the following route in 12 hrs 15 minutes. I-77 South to Columbia SC to I-20 East. Takes approximately 10 hours with stops for lunch and gas fillup. I-20 East to exit 141-A to I-95 North to exit 170 (327). 327 for approximatley 5 miles to 576/501 (left on 576/501). Continue on 501 to Highway 22. Highway 22 direct into NMB and 17.

Can get confusing once you turn off 327 as the road numbers keep changing but stay on the highway because it will beome 501. 501 will take you to 22.

We love this route since it does not take us through as many small towns and is basically all highway. Last year friends of ours went the route through the small towns and lost time due to one of them getting a speeding ticket with what they said was the real Barney Fife.

Think this one has been on here before. I remember the Wadsworth reply. I have family up that way.

Anyway we also use the interstate route. Only difference is we jump off at Ridgeway and run Rt 34 over to Lugoff to pick up I 20. Shaves approx. 20 miles off. Might save 5-10 minutes. If interested I can give more detailed information to get through there. Isn%26#39;t that bad. Just follow signs.

At Florence you%26#39;ll start seeing ';Beach Traffic'; signs directing you around Florence and up I 95 north. From I 95 in........Jump off I 95 at exit 170. Top of ramp turn right onto Rt 327.

Unless they%26#39;ve added some, the second stoplight(5-6 miles) is Rt 76. Turn left on Rt 76.

Rt 76 to Marion. Just before Marion stay in right lane. Again just follow the signs. Lane veers to right and in a matter of seconds you%26#39;ll be on Rt 501.

Rt 501 to Aynor and Conway. If there%26#39;s any question about rest stop, the Hardee%26#39;s in Aynor will be last stop before NMB.(30+ miles)

Just past Aynor you will pick up Rt 22. Rt 22 hits Rt 17 at Kings Road. For Windy Hill or Cresent Beach take Rt 17 north into NMB.

For Cherry Grove or Ocean Drive sections you%26#39;ll see Rt 31 before you get to Rt 17. Take Rt 31 north to Little River and pick up Rt 9. Bear right. Cross the Inner-Coastal Waterway and you%26#39;re at Sea Mountian Highway, Cherry Grove.
