Kingston Plantation is nice for families. There is an Embassy Suites there (no kitchen, just a fridge in rooms, but complimentary breakfast served each day for hotel guests). Also, many condo options, but the best ones on site would be the Brighton and Margate towers. KP has a lazy river, kids splash pool area and many other pools, kids activites. www.kingstonplantation.com

Never stayed at Kingston but I heard it was nice.

We have stayed at:

-Compass Cove (www.compasscove.com) The Mariner building is the better building. The Pinnacle has been renovated but the elevators, I hear are still too slow.

-Hampton Inn Oceanfront (has free breakfast)

-Brakers Resort- We are staying in the Paradise Towers the nicer of the buildings they have. www.breakers.com

All of the above have kitchens, pools, lazy rivers, separate bedrooms (2,3,4 bedroom suites)

Never stayed at Kingston but I heard it was nice. We also have 2 children so we were debating on the hotel selections as well. Finally chose the Breakers Paradise Towers.

The Sea Mist is a wonderful hotel for children. Unfortunately, you will find some negative reviews on this website about that Hotel. Most of those come from people who have ';heard'; that it was a bad place. Well, we%26#39;ve stayed there for the past 5 years, and have loved every stay.

They have a wonderful waterpark and many things for children. It is well worth your time to check them out on-line.

Some great suggestions...and a few others to throw into the mix..

Sea Island (www.seaislandonthebeach.com) Brand new, OF, condo type accomodations, and on (IMO) one of the better beaches in the area...nice pool area

Monteray Bay --- located in the Avenues area, again great beach, decent pool area, good value for the $$ with a decent breakfast buffet and a dessert reception in the evening included in the price...rooms are a decent size with a nice kitchen.

Grande Shores....I love there kiddie pool area....makes me want to be a kid again, and still in that same beach area, apporx 79th Ave N and OB

All these properties are about the same distance to Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing, within walking distance to a number of decent places to eat...and the bus stops right in front of the hotel if you dont feel like driving.

:)

Well to give you an update. I took your advise and some feedback and booked the Hampton Inn Oceanfront. The Sea Island sounded really nice knowing it is new. But you have to stay at least 4 nights. We are only staying 3. So Thanks to all of you and this sight for the input and help. Any other advise to make our trip fun, please let me know. As I will keep checking till we leave in August. :-)

I think you will be very happy with your selection. They have been voted best of the beach for the past few years. The staff there is excellent and the facilities are well kept. Enjoy yourselves!
