I am planning on spending the day at the beach on Saturday, July 1st on IOP. Hopefully getting there by 11:00. How bad is the parking, especially that Saturday before the 4th? Any locals that can give me some advice where is my best bet?
Parking %26amp; Crowds at IOP
Since that is the weekend before the 4th, it will most likely be pretty crowded. Your best bet for parking will be in the lot for the beach front county park, altho I would suggest getting there for sure by 11am. To get there - come straight over IOP connector bridge onto IOP, straight at stop light and you will see the lot on your left just prior to where you have to turn right (or crash into the condos/ocean!). The parking area along the beach has parking meters. (area in front of Windjammer, etc.) Some areas where parking was once available now have something built on them. There are areas where you can park along the road for free and walk to the beach - but be cautious that your are not on anyone%26#39;s private property or too far into the roadway or the vehicle may be towed off.
