Do the gambling boats go out in the ocean?

Do the gambling boats go out in the ocean and if so how far? I think there is more then one isn%26#39;t there and if so can anyone recommend one over the other?

Do the gambling boats go out in the ocean?

Hay Kahuna,

Yes, the gambling boats do go out and by SC law, they have to go out 3 or more miles off shore line. I personally havent gone but, People I%26#39;ve talked to says its nice. If you%26#39;re staying in the nearby communities, you might find some coupons for the Gamling excursions. Good Luck

The gambling boats go out of Little River...you will be on the boat about 45 min-an hour before the machines come on as they have to reach the NC border being gambling is illegal in SC. They are a lot of fun and I strongly recommend the Sun Cruz casino boat. Enjoy!

Thanks thats what I was hoping. I%26#39;ve never been way out on the ocean and about 2 hours of gambling does me.

anybob....

maybe not illegal in SC for much longer...after all, you can now buy SC lottery tickets (just recently begun). That%26#39;s gambling.

A bunch of places near me have recently got busted fr poker machines.

That is definately true daddio. I, as well, do not think it will be much longer before they legalize gambling in all ways in SC. They are just doing it little by little for now and the start was the lottery.

saw this today myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/鈥?4268493.htm

I think the way the law states around here on the gaming boats is that they have to head out to international waters (which is approx 4 to 5 miles offshore)...nothing to do with the NC or SC state line. Once they hit that mark the machines come on, and when they hoist the anchor to come back in, they turn off the machines.......

As for the article, the boats have always stirred up a bit of converstation....you have the pros who look at the amount of visitor traffic now coming to the area and the jobs this industry has in place in Little River, and the cons who remember what the waterfront was and looked like before the boats docking there....it was really a beautiful place then, and still is when the boats are out.

I guess I see both sides being in the service industry....the boats are alot of fun! Even if you dont gamble, its a great way to see the waterway and our area from a different prespecitve...but it is sad to see some of those large oak trees that are now surrounded by concrete and gravel and may not see the next 1000 years.....enjoy the area there....and one of my all time favorite restaurant (and restaurant owners...Tim and Tony!) CRABCATCHERS....just save a chair for me!

:)

Just a warning if you are prone to seasickness, beware! You may spend the whole cruise looking at the bottom of a trash can. If you have heard of people getting sick deepsea fishing, it%26#39;s very similar.

I%26#39;m with MBC on this one. Two sides to the gambling issue. Yes it pumps money into an area without raising taxes. But at what cost to the community and families?

A guy loses his paycheck on the way home. Another guy robs and steals to support his gambling habit. For some people gambling is just as addictive as a drug.

Up here the gambling seed was planted around twenty years ago with scratch off lottery tickets. Every few years something new is added. A greyhound dog track, Powerball numbers and more recently, video poker machines.

I don%26#39;t know what is growing the fastest. The gambling parlors or the pawn shops.
