Myrtle Beach 1st week in November?

First time to Myrtle Beach. We are a couple in our 40%26#39;s from Maine and we are going to the Atlanta Nascar Race on Oct. 29, 2006 and driving to Myrtle Beach after the race for a week. Will it be a ghost town? We like visiting during the off season but hope most attractions are open. My husband wants to go to the Nascar Park and driving ranges. I want to see Charleston, Carolina Opry and shopping. Any thing over 30 degrees will be warm to us so we just want to spend a lot of the time outdoors. Also, can anyone recommend a favorite Mexican Restaurant?

Thanks.

Myrtle Beach 1st week in November?

If the high anit over 30 degrees in November then SC must be having a ice age so you don%26#39;t have to worry about that. I anit sure what is opened the but MBC or anybob can help you out here.

Myrtle Beach 1st week in November?

October is my favorite time of year down there, also enjoy November. Spring and Fall will have more golfers than anything, so would think courses/driving ranges would be open. Most attractions are open during that time of year also.

About the only things that I can think of that are closed would be the Pavilion and Family Kingdom Amusement Parks, and the water parks. Nascar speedpark is open, as well as all the show. Most of the shows however will be gearing up for the holiday season, so you might get a mixture of regular show and a Christmas show.

As for temps....November is a great time...mild temps maybe in the low 70%26#39;s, water is still decent and swimable...and like the above post stated, its our fall golf season, so you will have a few golfers to contend with. Charleston will be a bit busier, it seem like there season is somewhat of our off season.

My favorite Mexican restaurant is Fiesta Mexicana...located on Kings Hwy (Bus 17) and 71st Ave N. Great food, excellent staff and really inexpensive! They also do a great lunch time buffet! Another decent place --- but more tex-mex is Fiesta Del Burro Loco, they are located just off the Bypass at 10th Ave N.

Have a great time!

:)

I completely agree with everything MBC said. :-)

We have been to MB the first week in November for four years. ( Golf for the menfolk while the women do whatever) One year, it was absolutly delightful. Two years is was somewhat chilly, with a lot of breeze for beach walking, but nice and sunny. The last year.....well, it poured down rain the first three days so we and most of the others, packed up and went home the morning of the fourth day.

But that first sunny week was just wonderful!!! The families with children are not there and there weren%26#39;t a lot of sun worshippers on the beach.

Cheack out Alabama Theatre, Tribute in Concert, Legends in Concert along with Carolina Opry....The Grand Prix cars are more fun than the NASCAR Park ones in my opinion; your husband may want to visit both?

Thanks for all the information. : )
