a few days stay
harleyrider,
the place is very safe at night, the Dogwood Cafe and Big Tuna are both on the water and pretty cool places to hang out and enjoy an adult beverage or two. there are also some great restaurants..the Rice Paddy and a new one, Okra, that you should definitely try. there are several museums in town (Georgetown Co. Museum, Rice Museum and the Kaminski House Museum) if you like that sort of thing. about 15 miles north is Brookgreen Gardens, and Huntington Beach State Park.. great places both.
if you like kayaking, sailing or boat tours, they all leave from the center of town.
if you want to see a plantation house circa 1740, Hopsawee is about 12 miles south of Georgetown, it was owned by a signer of the Dec Of Independence (Thomas Lynch)

one of the best aspects about Georgetown, besides being a great small town, is you can access Myrtle Beach (if you have any need to go there)..or we are an hour north of Charleston and it is a nice ride down,,before Charleston is Mt Pleasant, Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island.
You should have a great time in this area...

yes I am planing on heading to Myrtle beach just to say I Have been there ..
Really looking forward to my vacation , i hear they have 3 harley shops in Myrtle beach do you know if they are owned by the same person or group?? I collect dealer tee shirts so hope they are different in each shop .
HarleyRider,
Myrtle Beach H-D is all owned by the same folks...you will find the best selection of motorclothes at the main dealership near Rt 544 and 17 business..there is also a motorclothes only store at Broadway on the Beach up 17 past Coastal Grande Mall..can%26#39;t remember where the other one is...if you go to Charleston, there is a motorclothes store in downtown, near Meeting Street i think...
hope this helps..so whatcha riding these days..03 FXD here...
Thanks for the info the Harley dealer in charleston at meeting street is a fantastic shop so much bigger now that they moved to larger premises and the selection of tees is way cool , they had a whole wall decked out with tees . This is my 4th trip to Georgia and south carolina so getting to know my way round . never been to Myrtle beach or Georgetown before so that new to me ..
My ride is a heritage softail Nostailga 1996 but have owned 3 harleys , this one i plan on keeping a while as I like the look and how it rides .

We wanted to stay at your place in %26#39;03 but as I remember you don%26#39;t allow children, is this still the case? Our daughter was 3 at the time, she%26#39;s now 5 and as good as gold as she was then. How is Joes eyesight?
Harley
You must go to Murrels Inlet for food, we found Flo%26#39;s Place was best for seafood, but all the restaurants are great. Oh, a night at the ball game (Myrtle Beach Pelicans) is a great way to relax, practically a new stadium, plenty of room and cheap food and beer.
