Hotel with space for 3-4 adults and 3 children

We will be traveling to Myrtle Beach for the third time in August. Normally it%26#39;s just my husband and 2 children. We are going with my sister, mother and my nephew this time. We need a hotel/condo that will accommodate 3 adults and 3 children w/out charging us for each additional Adult.

We prefer to have something that has maybe 2-3 bedrooms and 2 baths. We want to stay in the area of Myrtle Beach North or South Ocean Boulevard, not North Myrtle Beach or South Beach.

We have stayed at the Breakers and Compass Cove. Breakers Resort Hotel needed to be updated but the Paradise Towers is very nice and will accommodate us but they don%26#39;t have any available rooms. Compass Cove, we stayed in the Pinnacle Building which is the older building that needs to be updated. The Mariner building the new building on top of the motel is nice but they don%26#39;t have any rooms available. August 16-19.

PLEASE HELP. WE WANT CLEAN-UPDATED ROOMS THAT DON%26#39;T SMELL. WE WANT OCEAN FRONT ONLY WE DON%26#39;T WANT TO WALK ACROSS THE STREET TO GET TO THE BEACH. WE WANT A LAZY RIVER THAT GOES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND AN OUTDOOR POOL. A LOT OF DEMANDS BUT THERE ARE PLACES THAT HAVE THESE AMENITIES JUST NOT THE SPACE WE NEED.

THANKS,

Hotel with space for 3-4 adults and 3 children

I heard that Compass Cove is real nice in the pincaple building becuase they arre finishing renovating it as we speak or another new one that just opened up May 13 would be The Sea Island Inn.

Good Luck trying to find one.

I would look at Sea Island...really nice, brand new place, great lazy river and pool area...or even their sister property, South Wind Villas...both of these are OF, in the Gazebo section of MB around 58th to 61st Ave N.

:)

Hampton Inn Oceanfront (www.hamptoninnoceanfront.com) is a gorgeous property...VERY clean rooms, great breakfast included and the hotel gets great reviews. The 2 bedroom/2 bath suite they have sound like it would be perfect for your family (that particular room has bedspace for 8 and has a kids room with a set of bunk beds that kids love)!

You got the money you can get anything.

Just got back from Sea Island tonight and it was AWESOME!!! We are incredibly picky and thought it was near perfect. I will agree about the kitchen items - everything was brand new but not Teflon - but met our needs. We did call and get a hairdryer no problem - they said they were still working at getting them in all the rooms.

Just wanted to answer MB about the pools. From the pics I saw, I was not impressed and almost cancelled - big mistake!! To make it easier to understand, here%26#39;s the highlights of each:

South pool: Neat design, long s-shaped like north pool but center area is 1/2- 1 ft with levels going deeper to the ends being 5ft. Allows toddlers to play or adults to sit in the shallow areas or on the levels and relax.

North pool: Outside, long kinda s-shaped, center area 3 ft. ends 5 ft.

Allows for several groups of people to be in the pool but not near each other. Kids played while adults relaxed and nobody got splashed!!

Jacuzzi near the north pool and inside area.

Inside: small pool area near lazy river. Felt heated.

Area for smaller kids: sloped down with water jetting up. ';trees'; with the big rainhead shower heads. About 1 -1 1/2 feet deep. Heated. I think the capacity said over 100.

Jacuzzi in the corner.

Pool area with basketball goal.

Lazy river - thought this was very neat. Rock walls and water sprays were well done. Floats provided (although some people snag them for the pools).

Large tanning lawn in between pools and fence to beach area (great for keeping the kids in!) Plenty of lounge %26amp; regular chairs.

The words don%26#39;t do it justice. I asked my dd %26amp; dh what they would rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 and they both said 10 - and we are picky.

Might as well discuss the rest.... Background: we stayed in a one bedroom (913) with 8 yr. old %26amp; 7 mth. old.

Rooms: beautifully decorated - loved the colors. Very similar to website pics. Floors in the hallways, kitchen %26amp; bath are tiled. Bedroom %26amp; LR carpeted. Granite countertops. Bathroom very large. Bedroom was good too – only compliant, I don’t think the dressers had come in yet. The only place to unpack our clothes was the 3 drawer chest the TV was on.

The kitchen was a little small but we saw the 2 and 3 bedroom ones and they were as big as you would have in your house. LR was nice – sofa %26amp; 2 chairs plus dining table (which could convert to Murphy bed).

The view was beautiful although my personal preference would to be lower. Balcony had 3 chairs %26amp; a small table.

Dining room: the food was wonderful! We ate breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was reasonable and great! Dinner was beautifully served and delicious but high. At home, this wouldn’t be a place we took our kids to – more of a celebration place. Reservations are required and dress is nice (no jeans, not sure about shorts). Don’t get me wrong, the food was GREAT but the portions weren’t huge and it was a little upscale for our two little ones!

Staff: Our housekeeper was terrific – very accommodating when the baby was sleeping, etc. The front desk staff seems new and couldn’t real answer questions about restaurants, etc. but were very friendly. I’m sure they will learn! Waiters were terrific and sweet to our kids. They didn’t have our reservation down ( we have made it that afternoon at the front desk) and we were already feeling a little self conscious since we were the only ones there under 60 (eating dinner) but our waiter put us right at ease!

Beach: beautiful! Plenty of umbrellas %26amp; chairs ($25/day for umbrella %26amp; 2 chairs, $20 after 1, $15 after 2, put up about 5ish). Lifeguard right at hotel. We could see down the beach and it was very crowded where they were several hotels together but Sea Island is surrounded by private homes so the beach was not crowded at all.

Only complaints: needed bigger trash can in kitchen, needed dresser in bedroom %26amp; needed nonstick cookware. Overall 9 ? ?

Hope I covered everything! Sorry this is so long but I was dying to know what it is like and I know ya’ll are too!

I upload the pics to this album – there is a lot but it will give you a good idea. Enjoy!!!

Inki,

Wow...great post! You do a great job with descriptions...I can really picture what you listed. I%26#39;m sure all this info will help those that were somewhat sceptical about how nice this place was planning on being.

Good job!

:)

Thanks for the detailed description. That is exactly what I needed. I called them to see if they had rooms available and they do make you stay a minimum of 4 nights but we can adjust our schedule.

I love the details about the room. I am very-very picky about that. I hate a nasty old run down hotel. Since it is new I could get over them not having certain items and the staff not being informed. Next year this time, it would be perfect. I am big on the pool thing as well. We were thinking about the Breakers because our son loves the pirate ship pool and the lazy river which I am big on. I like for the lazy river to go in and out of the hotel. I don%26#39;t necesarily want to float for an hour in the sun.

Thanks again for the tips.

We have stayed in The Ocean Reef the last three years. no complaints. They have Angled-Oceanfront 3 bedroom condos. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 children. They have 2 indoor pools, 1 outdoor pool, 4 or 5 jacuzzis, and a lazy river that goes inside and outside. Parking was across the street unless you were lucky enough to get one of the probably 20 or so spaces next to the hotel. They are doing renovations this year so I don%26#39;t know how it is now.

sorry, 1 indoor pool, not 2 at the Ocean reef
